Chocolate Turtle Apples are made with sliced fresh apples, dipped in melted chocolate, drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with pecans.

Ingredients
  • 3 green apples like Granny Smith
  • 3 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chopped or chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 cup caramels melted, like Kraft caramels
  • 1/2 cup halved pecans
Instructions
  1. Slice apples into 1/2" pieces.
  2. Make a small slit in the bottom of each apple slice and insert a popsicle stick into each apple slice. Set aside.
  3. Add chocolate to a medium bowl, and microwave on high for about 1 minute, stir and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring, until melted.
  4. Stir in coconut oil until smooth.
  5. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  6. Dip each apple slice in chocolate and place onto the prepared cookie sheet. Refrigerate for 10 minutes for the chocolate to harden.
  7. Place caramels into a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 45-60 seconds., careful to NOT overheat. Stir until smooth.
  8. Drizzle melted caramel over chocolate and sprinkle with nuts.
  9. Serve as is or refrigerate until the caramel will harden 30-60 minutes.
