Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 7 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes or more to taste
  • 1 pound ground chicken or turkey
  • 5 green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together: brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil and red pepper flakes, set aside. Note: you can also add these directly into the pan, one by one, after you cook the garlic, ginger and brown the chicken.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  3. Add garlic and cook, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant. Add fresh minced ginger and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Add ground chicken and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Break apart and crumble the meat as it cooks.
  5. Cut the green part of the green onions into 2 inch pieces.
  6. Add the soy sauce mixture and green onions into the meat and stir until well combined, allowing to simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately over rice, garnished with sesame seeds.
  8. Enjoy!
