Green Beans with Bacon is an easy one pan recipe that will be a perfect side dish for any holiday family meal. It cooks in about 30 minutes and is full of flavor from reusing the bacon grease to cook the green beans.

Ingredients
10slicesthick cut baconcut into 1 inch pieces
1poundgreen beans, washed and trimmed
1sweet oniondiced
6clovesgarlicminced
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Place a 9 or 10 inch cast iron pan over medium-high heat.
Once the pan is hot, add the bacon pieces and distribute evenly.
Let the bacon cook for 1 minute unmoved, start stirring it with a wooden spoon to cook evenly.
Cook bacon for about 5 minutes, or until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Drain bacon grease, leaving only about 2 tablespoons.
Add diced onion and garlic, cook stirring for 1 minutes. Add the green beans, saute for 1-2 minutes.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 7-8 minutes. Uncovering and stirring ocassionally. Until the green beans are tender. Adjust for salt and pepper.
Add the bacon back to the pan, stir to combine. Cook for 1 more minute.
Serve warm.
